AI chatbots and sleep apnoea
In a third of cases, AI chatbots wrongly reassure sleep apnoea patients their symptoms aren't serious
Research presented at the ERS Congress in Barcelona tested 700 conversations across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek and Grok. Every chatbot gave the right referral advice to a cooperative patient. When the same patient pushed back, that advice collapsed: a documented case of AI sycophancy in a clinical setting.
